The History of Passover
Passover is the Jewish holiday celebrating the liberation of the Hebrew's from slavery in Egypt. During the celebration that lasts seven days in Israel, and eight days in most other places of the world, Jews do not eat anything that contains wheat, rye, barley, oats, and spelt. This is done in remembrance of the Exodus - when the Hebrews did not have time during their escape to let their bread rise. When the Egyptian Pharaoh refused to liberate the Israelites, the Angel of Death was called to kill the first-born child of every Egyptian, but "passed over" the children of the Israelites.

Passover has been celebrated by Jewish people for over three thousand years, making it the oldest festival in the Jewish faith.
