So you buy a product that you really want and you start using it and you love it. But then...(you know there is always a but...) you get an email or a snail mail coupon from the SAME company offering the product at 50% off.
Now this could work in two ways.
1. I could buy the same product again for myself or for a friend or
2. I could be really angry that I bought the product at full price and now I feel jipped.
Wow! What a diverse reaction. I could be really happy and buy more or I could be annoyed and possibly never buy from that company again.
So, what is the moral of this story? Personalize your offers to your customers so they know you appreciate them and you are not just blindly sending them a GREAT deal on something they just bought. Either send them an offer for another product they might like (or something that goes with what they just bought) or provide the offer on the same product they just bought BECAUSE YOU KNOW they just bought that product from you.
