Spring Forward!
"If we had no winter, Spring would not be so pleasant. If we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." - Anne BradStreet
Spring is here and it's time to do
spring cleaning! Clean up and filter your mailing lists, get your filing cabinets in order,
and welcome the pleasant weather with some outdoor company
activites. Visit our Celebrate
Spring resource page for more tips on sending Spring eCards and invitations.
And don't forget to "spring forward" for Daylight Savings Time on
April 2nd!
Staying in Touch with Clients
Spring is also a good time to rekindle your business relationships and
build new connections. Here are some ways you can use E-cards
to help:
- The number one complaint from managers who have just purchased a new
product or service is a lack of follow-up service from the seller. Send a thank
you eCard to
your clients after the sale to make sure everything is working out with their
purchase. If everything is good, they may want to buy more or give you a referral.
If something is not good, at least you know, and you now have an opportunity
to fix it.
- Take advantage of the warmer weather and invite
clients to
an outdoor activity, such as a company picnic or ball game. Use the time to
catch up and strengthen your relationship. If you are attending a seminar,
expo, or other networking event, and think that your clients may be
interested as well, extend
an invitation.
Here are some tips to maintaining an effective client network:
- Take the initiative - You have no control over when your contacts will get in touch with you, so take the first step and make the initial contact.
- Stay in touch regularly - Create a schedule to keep in contact with
your clients. Make them expect to hear from you. Your clients will have you
in their heads and will think of you when new business opportunities arise.
- Keep it brief - One long phone call every month is not as effective in maintaining a positive business relationship as multiple shorter contacts.
- Let them know when you'll be in touch next - At the end of your message, be sure to let your client know when you'll be following up or the next time you'll be sending them a message. But when you say you are going to contact them at a certain time, respect their time and remember to do so.
