Tips for creating engaging and targeted surveys
to improve your survey response rate!

  • Target fewer, carefully selected groups of people to fill out your survey and let them know they have been uniquely selected, which will increase the likelihood of response. Make someone feel special!
  • Develop your questions with relevance and brevity. Keep your questions simple while avoiding vague issues. (Be specific, but don’t say too much.) Each question should contain only one topic.
  • Keep the number of questions in your survey to a minimum and you will increase your rate of return.
  • Keep your survey interesting! Use engaging and conversational wording to keep the answers rolling.
  • Don’t "beat around the bush" with your questions, and if you want specific answers, ask for them. (Your recipients can usually tell if your questions have a hidden agenda, which might stop them from replying.)
  • Always thank your customers for their time and insight! Create an incentive to encourage people to complete your survey - such as a coupon toward their next purchase.
