Happy New Year! E-mail Marketing Trends for 2006
E-mail is a powerful marketing tool;
using it successfully is becoming increasingly challenging.
Gone are the days when frequency
and relevancy were the only
concerns. In order to be successful in 2006, marketers must focus
on:
- The human element: Your e-mail should be personalized to an individual's
needs not just a 'mass' email approach.
- Deliverability: Be sure to include a subject line with information
that is familiar to the recipient. Try not to include
attachments or large images within your message.
- Customer value: An effective e-mail message is not only measured
by the open rate, but by how valuable it is to the recipient.
If they deem it valuable, they will more than likely continue
to open and read your emails.
What Are Your New Year's Resolutions?
New Year's isn't over for everyone! The Chinese
New Year is
fast approaching, as well as several other holidays in January and February.
February is American
Heart Month and Black
History Month,
as well as Groundhog
Day,
Valentine's
Day, and
President's
Day. Don't forget to send holiday ecards to customers, prospects
and employees.
2006 can be your year to improve business and employee relationships.

Additions to CorpNote
The CorpNote team is continually improving and innovating CorpNote to help you maintain and improve your business relationships. This month we have added two new features: flash animated cards and the ability to send ecards to specific groups of people at once.
Grab
your recipient's attention like never before with ecards that contain moving
pictures and text. As we add more flash animated cards you will see them
in the New ECards section when you sign in.
Want to send an e-card to a specific group of people with just
the click of a button? You can now quickly
and easily organize your address book into groups. When selecting the
email addresses for your ecard, you can simply check the box next to the
group you would like to send your message to. This time-saving feature
makes sending e-cards even easier!
Effective E-mail Subject Lines
E-mail marketing isn't effective if your recipient doesn't open the
message! One of the first, and most important, things your recipient
sees when they check their e-mail is the subject line. Here are some
tips for creating effective subject lines that improve the chances
that your e-mail will be opened:
- Most e-mail clients limit the subject line display. Resist the urge to create lengthy sentences, and keep the subject line below 50 characters.
- Make effective use of the space allotted. Come up with
a creative line that catches attention rather than a typical phrase
like, Your newsletter is here!
- Place your name or company name in the beginning of the subject line. He or she will immediately recognize you and be more willing to open the e-mail.
- Have someone else review and edit your subject lines. A quick
glance by third parties will give you a different, unbiased perspective. You
can even send several e-mails with different subject lines to yourself
and a sample group to see how people react to them.
Thank you
for supporting CorpNote, and we wish you success in
all your business and personal endeavors!
