Here's another pic from our blank card catalogue. Irises get their name from the Greek word for rainbow which refers to the wide variety of flower colors among the many species of Iris. This photo is of Japanese Irises and these are special because they were handed down in someone's family for 4 generations. They are very easy to grow and the rhizomes can be dug up and divided every few years and planted in Spring or Sept/Oct. in the Eastern U.S. The only trick is to bury them deep enough to keep the squirrels from digging them up and taking them away but also enable them to grow and reach the sunlight in the spring when they bloom.
