"Submit Order Anxiety" (aka "Click Stress") might not be a clinically correct phrase, but many people suffer from a case of nerves before they click the Submit button on an e-commerce website. With online Holiday shopping in full swing, many of you might relate. After investing your time in selecting a product and entering your order information, your mouse hesitates and your mind races with questions like,
- Is the company reputable?
- What if I don’t like it?
- Is my transaction secure?
- Will I be able to talk to someone if there’s a problem?
As a web developer, I sometimes have the same fears doing business online. I received a CorpNote support call today from a new member that was ready to cancel. She had only spent a few minutes on the site, and was admittedly suffering from "S.O.A." I don’t think she expected a person to answer her phone call, but we did (as we always try to do).
I assured her that we’d gladly refund her account (she was only hours into the 10 day money-back guarantee period), and I offered to help her. Within 5 minutes she was a happy CorpNote customer, and she was again looking forward to sending out her Holiday eCards.
At the end of the call, she again mentioned her initial anxiety, and thanked us for being different and taking the time to help her. Hey, this is a hectic time for most of us, and everyone’s things-to-do list is really long. Sending Holiday cards is often a huge business task, and many people procrastinate. But don’t let it get you down. If we can alleviate a little of your S.O.A. with holiday eCards, all the merrier!
