The holiday season is coming to a close and as I was cleaning up our art room in preparation for the next holiday, I found myself reminiscing on how much fun we had creating our new holiday eCard line up this year. As usual, there was lots of hot chocolate and coffee involved, loud holiday music and way too much candy!
This year was especially fun because the art styles varied widely and, in many cases, a single holiday eCard design was created as a collaboration by two or more artists. The more the merrier I say! I hope you think so too!
So here's my top 5 new holiday eCard design picks plus a bonus holiday eCard fave I just couldn't leave out.
As people are transitioning from traditional printed holiday greeting cards to eCards, I feel it's important to emulate the look of a beautiful printed greeting card while also making it easy and more economical for businesses to send their year-end Season's Greetings. The artist who designed this holiday eCard achieved that with a design that mimics the embellishment of foil, which many people associate with traditional printed greeting cards. I liked this eCard design so much that I had our art team also make it available as a thank you eCard for gifts received and as an invitation for holiday parties.
Setting up for a holiday photo shoot takes lots of planning and time to get just the right shot but sometimes the perfect shot just presents itself. One of our photographers was on a family vacation in Maine when the first snow fall of the season presented him with the perfect shot. I appreciate his taking the time to always be looking for the photo even when he should be relaxing on vacation! And our members appreciate it too. This turned out to be in the top 3 of our most popular holiday eCards this year.
Photo shoots in the studio can be a little tricky especially when they involve multiple lighting sources. If you're a photographer, you can appreciate what I'm saying. Our photographer also had the added challenge of making this an animated card design.
I've always liked the combination of fire and water because of the beautiful way they interact with each other in reflections. This eCard design instantly made it into my top 5 favorite holiday cards this year. I also really like the festive embellishments added on top of the photo and next to the text.
I was immediately drawn to the traditional look of this holiday eCard design. At first glance, it looks like a printed holiday card with the metallic gold foil for the letters and the frame combined with the embossing of the holly leaves. I also really like the elegance of the gray and gold color scheme. This design is also available as a thank you eCard and as an invitation.
Even though CorpNote has been in business for 14 years and our clients are from all over the world, I love the fact that our company is still able to enjoy being creative and innovative. It's not uncommon for a staff member to doodle during a marketing meeting or for a member of our art team to come up with a creative idea for the programming team. The polar bear on this eCard started as a staff member's 'doodle' during a marketing meeting in August and I immediately thought of how it would fit into our holiday eCard line up.
I was only going to review my top 5 in this list but then this one snuck in and I didn't want to leave it out. This design was created almost entirely with my new best friend - an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil in a graphic design program called Procreate. It is literally like working with traditional art supplies but a lot less messy!
So while I'm sharing how we had fun making our eCard line for you, I'm also thinking you might have the perfect photo or a graphic design you created and want to use your own art as a holiday eCard design. No problem! One of the reasons people choose CorpNote is our ability to let you upload your own artwork or photos to use as the image in your holiday eCards.
