Pic of the Day

Wishing you a Lucky Day!

Celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with this new “lucky” eCard. Legend has it that Saint Patrick used the shamrock, the three-leaf clover variety, to teach pagans about the Holy Trinity so why do people associate luck with Saint Patrick's Day? About 1 clover leaf in 10,000 will have four leaves so if you find one that's pretty lucky!

Have you ever heard the phrase 'Luck of the Irish'? In Irish folklore, leprechauns are said to be part of the Irish magical race – the Tuatha Dé Danann – and that they keep their hidden gold at the end of a rainbow. If you find a leprechaun, you could consider yourself quite lucky! Rumor has it that leprechauns will grant you three wishes if you are nice to them.

Yeah - it's highly probable that you won't find a leprechaun but you can definitely wish someone a lucky Saint Patrick's Day with this new eCard. Don't forget, you can schedule your eCards now to be sent on Saturday, March 17th.

Comments:

This new Saint Patrick's Day eCard was created in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop. The shamrock was created in Illustrator and the shape was brought into PhotoShop to be used as a custom brush. We then painted the shamrocks with the brush set to scatter and opacity 50%. We left the middle open to add the text. Then we added two shamrocks to give a point of interest to the design in the lower left and upper right of the card.
